Just two weeks ago I was invited to be a last minute vendor for the Albany Bridal News November 23rd event at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in downtown Albany, New York. I decided to take the plunge and do my first bridal show. My goals were to get my name out there, meet some other vendors, and book two weddings. Amazingly in those two short (oh, they seemed so short!) weeks I was able to put together a booth design including cutting out a variety of paper leaves, embroidering place cards, painting my sign, making cute vow booklets and getting my paper goods printed. Being the ambitious lady I am I dreamed of also offering a free takeaway for the attending brides...but two weeks just isn't enough = lesson learned. Don't worry though I have my eyes on an indie wedding event (hopefully) in February and I'll make sure to top this design and pull out all the stops for that one.
Time will tell if all the energy I poured into doing the event will pay off. I met some truly sweet and lovely brides, grooms, and bridesmaids yesterday! I had several brides tell me they saw my booth from across the room and fell in love with my style. I was certainly blushing! I hope to hear from these couples soon (especially the bride who dreams of a Labyrinth/David Bowie inspired reception...I've already churned a couple ideas in my head for you).
