When I met Kyle and Lauren I quickly thought we were a great match to work together. They were planning a DIY wedding in their backyard with an all vegan menu and hired me to help design special touches for their day. A little background about myself, I was a vegan myself for 10 years so they had me at hello. Lauren and Kyle's wedding was definitely a village wedding featuring the help of many friends and family to create. These beautiful photos by Heidi Benjamin display their sunny love fest of a wedding!
Lauren sourced her flowers from a local flower farm and created all her bouquets and floral arrangements herself with the help of some of her girlfriends!
I created this white paper flower backdrop for their ceremony which swayed in the breeze behind them.
I also created a fabric fringe garland to decorate their house and this yarn wall hanging for their DIY photo booth.
As part of their unique design, I sewed custom table runners out of a colorful feather fabric and illustrated seed packets that acted as both favors and escort cards. I used my bookbinding skills to make their guest book with an hand embroidered cover. As you'll see the word "Monalett" was used a lot in the design which is the combination of both their last names together. I hand painted a variety of signs including their vegan feast!
Their wedding looked like such a genuine expression of their personalities from the buddhist touches in their ceremony to including Lauren's son throughout the day. I am so proud to have been able to make some really cool designs for them!
