This past Spring, photographer Keira Lemonis and I teamed up to give away a styled engagement shoot to one lucky couple. Out of the entries we chose Ashlie and Anthony who turned out to be one of the sweetest and cutest couple. The day of the shoot it rained and rained, but luckily we waited it out for a window of light mist and created the beautiful bohemian engagement shoot you see below.
Keira and I have decided to offer this as a special service to couples. You can book us to provide a styled engagement or anniversary shoot like this for you!
Our backdrop was the small scale farm, The Kirk Estate, in Altamont, NY. The Kirk Estate offers a variety of great locations with flower gardens, fields, and a set of railroad tracks beyond the tree line.
Hair and make up was provided by the talented Gwen Carter of Blush 518.
I created this tasseled yarn chandelier, hand lettered "To Have" and "To Hold" leather ribbons, dabbled in floral arranging, and sewed all these pillows.
I also played the role of baker and made this Persian love cake with the flavors of pistachio and rose water for the shoot. Ashlie and Anthony told me during our consultation leading up to the shoot that one of their favorite desserts was baklava so I wanted to give them a cake that featured similar flavor combinations. I decorated the top with crushed pistachios and forget me not flowers.
This ombre dyed fair trade gown was provided by Celia Grace for Ashlie to wear.
