This is one of my favorite weddings to date and I’m so excited to share it. Amanda and Matt knew of me through some mutual friends and graciously hired me to help them plan their 45 person wedding from start to finish. We toured several venues and the couple fell in love with Helsinki Hudson. Most weddings at Helsinki take place in their ballroom, but Amanda and Matt choose to host their wedding in Helsinki’s club space. Seeing their vision come together the club space was the perfect spot. Scroll on to see the insane details captured by photographer Andrew Franciosa.
My team and I created the mid century inspired seating cards while the couple’s friend and talented book cover designer Phil Pascuzzo designed the seating poster and table cards. Each table was named after one of the animals sent into space. We also created a multi panel lit up ceremony backdrop of the night sky of Amanda and Matt’s first date along with some sputnik stars we hung from the ceiling and custom napkins from a retro fabric. We assembled florals for the intimate tables with pincushion protea, billy balls, and ferns. Amanda and Matt surprised their guests with a science experiment as part of their ceremony that was so much fun to watch.
After the ceremony, Amanda changed into a short dreamy lavender dress that matched her hair hue. I think we were all jealous of her ensemble in that moment!
